Dear Parents
IT'S SHOW TIME!
I cannot express how proud I am of the Year 5 & 6 children who delivered such amazing performances of the Tempest this week. The dedication and hard work put into rehearsals certainly paid off and it was a pleasure to see them all showcase their talent on stage. I was particularly impressed with the attention to detail in their performances and the way they brought all the characters to life. From our beautiful Miranda to Stephano, the very convincing drunkenbutler, and of course our two Ariel's and two Caliban's! I would like to thank every child who was involved for making me a very happy and content Headteacher.
It was not all about the show this week, Year 2 had their Forest School trip in Black Park. Our adventurers got hands-on with nature, building dens, bug hunting, making mud pies, they even tried to tempt Mrs Grogan with a mud smoothie! A good time was had by all, hopefully they have been inspired to become the next generation of eco-warriors.

Year 1 Bean Growing
Our little green thumbs in Year 1 have been hard at work growing their own beans in their science lesson. They have learnt about the importance of sunlight, water and patience - they have been rewarded with a beautiful crop! They have been so proud of how much the plants have grown and were very excited to measure them.

Year 2 - lines of symmetry
Year 2 have been exploring the fascinating world of symmetry, it's amazing to see how creative they are. They have taken advantage of the good weather and drawn shapes in the playground, they then checked each other's shapes to see if they have a line of symmetry.

Lower Trans U (Year 3) Estimating and Measuring
Our Year 3 children have also taken advantage of the good weather this week. They have taken their maths lesson outside and have been learning all about measurement and estimation using metre sticks and trundle wheels. They first had to estimate a measurement and then use the tools available to measure accurately. What a fantastic way to learn about measurement.

Year 3 Design & Technology - Making 3D Photo Frames
Check out the amazing 3D photo frames created by our talented Year 3's in Design and Technology with Mrs Gabb. Using their creativity, imagination and craft skills, Year 3s have designed and built their own 3D photo frames. They have measured their materials accurately and cut the wooden frame to size. Mrs Gabb is so proud of their hard work.

Year 5 & 6 Berkshire Maestros
As well as the Tempest rehearsals, some of our Year 5 and 6 children, who will be attending The Berkshire Maestros concert on Wednesday 28th June, attended their second and final area rehearsal at Homer School in Windsor. The children, as always, were impeccably behaved. We are very excited to perform at such an exciting concert venue.

Preparations for our FOPs Summer Fete are well underway and we are all very excited. It will be held on Friday 30th June 2023 from 3pm to 6pm.
As you may be aware, most of the funds from events like this are raised through the main event, the school raffle, with prizes generously donated by parents and local sponsors. FOPs are hopeful that you may be willing to provide them with suitable raffle prizes for the event.
The success of our fundraising depends upon the generosity and spirit of you all. They are looking for things like vouchers, new toys and items suitable for prizes for the raffle. Please can you drop any prizes to the School Office.
Thank you in advance for your donations.
