Visit to Denham Aerodrome

Last week our Year 1 children visited Denham Aerodrome
Our Year 1 children have been learning all about the amazing Wright Brothers and their groundbreaking achievements in flight. Last week, their learning took off with a memorable trip to Denham Aerodrome.
Excitement filled the air as they explored real light aircraft up close, watched planes take off and land, and listened to experienced aviators sharing their passion for flying. They watched mechanics service the aircraft and saw inside the engines that power them. It wasn't just aeroplanes - the children saw helicopters as well in the hangers and they were even lucky enough to witness one take off right in front of them. The highlight of the day? The children enjoyed the unforgettable chance to climb into the cockpit and take hold of the controls —whilst of course remaining safely on the ground!
By the end of the visit, the children were inspired, with a few now dreaming of taking to the skies themselves one day. This experience may have sparked the journey of a future pilot!
